 This is a message thread for QQQ timers who like to catch a few points of a wave. Remember QQQ options stay open longer after hours (maybe 10 min). Earnings may start to provide clues on trading the next day. I like to take .5 to 1 points and like options in the final two weeks before expiration (less premium). If I am wrong they compress and don't lose as much as shorting stock. I don't make daily moves but earnings and gaps may provide some volatility in the short term. Sold my smh puts too early today. Bot some QQQ 37 puts after hours for .5 when Alcoa missed. QQQ Target 36.35 ish (50 MA) maybe tomorrow. Right now we have some large gaps and a holiday week.

Hi Estrategy,

Since you mentioned the last two week window for your entry, do you normally trade at the money options? Of course with good methods of determining pivots and projections off of these pivots, out of the money options become possible (especially if time projection is part of the method). I would hope that this thread can be a place to explore technical methods as pure forecasting is already well represented at the FF board.

FYI, my work is primarily based on pivots that form in *reverse divergence* zones of resistance. I use a smoothed RSI-5 as the primary indicator. I also require 2-3 time frames for analysis (I rarely go below 10 min. bars!). I am neither bull or bear. It merely depends on what trade the charts give me.

Thanks for starting this thread and I look forward to participating!

The further options are to expiration the more premium I am willing to buy. For example: 4 weeks out I would buy ITM (in the money) options. 2 Weeks out ATM (at the money) or near the money. 1 Week buy OTM (slightly out of the money). I am flat now but I think we might get a nice push down next week in SMH and QQQ. Still gaps to fill. Watching INTC for signs. e

will follow your posts with interest. I am looking to build a QQQ short when the setup looks good. Are you going to post in this thread in future weeks, or start a new thread with similar title when the time comes? Feel free to PM me if you want with your entries and exits. I have long traded QQQ and always interested in exchanging ideas.

 Looking pretty bullish here but I am still flat and scalping some NQ longs. Possible setup for QQQ NDX and NQ break out tomorrow. Needs to clear 1508 NDX. However, a bad earnings report from a major co. could send QQQ to 36 which is (Max Pain Options) for Friday. Patience! e

Bot some 37 QQQ Calls today at 12 PST today for .2 targeting .3 to .5 exit. Small bounce possible but not to confident. Still have gap to fill. 37.30 ish might be a better entry tomorrow. e
