I have a MacBook Pro that I have as a backup to my PC, as well as for travel. I use it with IB. With IB you download the Trader Workstation specifically written for the Mac operating system. No problems at all. If you want to run windows based software, you can download Parallels or VMware Fusion. I have not done this with my MBPro. I've opted to use software written specifically for the Mac operating system. But I'm guessing that IF people have had problems with their Mac with Scottrade, it either has to do with Scottrade, or it has to do with something related to Parallels. There's alot of brokers around. Scottrade would be way down my list. IT

So there you go JD. There are a lot of good choices, just sounds like Scottrade is your main problem.
Good trading to you.

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I've taken a great deal of time to learn Scottrade Elite and to set up all my charts, graphs, and trade triggers and it's working well so at this time I want to stick with them. Switching to a Mac is not smething I have to do just an idea. I will probably get a Mac monitor and a new Dell system if I go over 24" monitor. Thanks again, JDJ
