The Disinformation Campaign

Social science research offers some useful insights into how people typically make decisions:

Reasoning is only a small part of forming opinions or judgments
Judgments are often based on inadequate information
Early and negative information has a disproportionally heavy impact
Anecdotal, easy-to-remember information is also overly weighted

Therefore, disinformation campaigns use simple, powerful, negative, emotional arguments that tell a story. Since people resist changing their minds about emotionally loaded topics, the media campaign has to ramp up quickly, before the facts have a chance to catch up to the narrative.

Nearly three weeks elapsed between the shooting and the first national media coverage. The organizers would use this time to set up legal, research, and media teams. These teams would establish effective control over Martin's parents, organize his extended family members and friends, interview and recruit witnesses, try to conceal or sanitize Martin's online and school records, prepare media allies for the launch, and plan the content and timing of the campaign.

The narrative launched in mid-March with nearly simultaneous articles by black journalists at major leftist media outlets: Ta-Nehisi Coates at the Atlantic, Charles M. Blow at the New York Times, and Trymaine Lee at the Huffington Post. These were classics of advocacy journalism -- sensationalist propaganda with no attempt to be impartial, objective, or accurate. Al Sharpton repeated and amplified the reports on his daily TV show at MSNBC. The national media instantly adopted the story, devoting hour after hour to the narrative and its white racism theme, with little balance or analysis. The massive media support helped turn a local shooting into the most important story in America -- one that would dominate the news cycle for two weeks.

Journalism is another word for some guy said. Look at other professions - legal, finance, medical - you go to school and specialize in an area of that general field, take a state test and then must stay current over your career. Journalism - some guy, hires some guy to report on subject from sociology, to physics to finance.

SOWELL: 'A Censored Race War'...
Posted Image
"Episodes of unprovoked violence by young black gangs against white people chosen at random on beaches, in shopping malls, or in other public places have occurred in Philadelphia, New York, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Washington, Los Angeles, and other places across the country. Both the authorities and the media tend to try to sweep these episodes under the rug.

A wave of such attacks in Chicago were reported, but not the race of the attackers or victims. Media outlets that do not report the race of people committing crimes nevertheless report racial disparities in imprisonment and write heated editorials blaming the criminal-justice system.

What the authorities and the media seem determined to suppress is that the hoodlum elements in many ghettoes launch coordinated attacks on whites in public places. If there is anything worse than a one-sided race war, it is a two-sided race war, especially when one of the races outnumbers the other several times over.

It may be understandable that some people want to head off such a catastrophe, either by not reporting the attacks in this race war, or by not identifying the race of those attacking, or by insisting that the attacks were not racially motivated — even when the attackers themselves voice anti-white invective as they laugh at their bleeding victims."

I think it has been called 'Paternalistic Journalism' - the predominately white liberal media reports or does not report stories about the black community which it determines is in the best interest of the black community.

The Disinformation Campaign
the media campaign has to ramp up quickly, before the facts have a chance to catch up to the narrative.

The Facts are Catching Up

The Media's "Race Narrative" is Falling Apart

Two police officers reported that when they arrived at the scene of the shooting, Zimmerman seemed to have a battered nose and bloodied face. One wrote that his "facial area was bloodied," and the back of his clothing was soiled with wet grass.

"Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and the back of his head," Officer Ricardo Ayala wrote.

Another officer wrote, "I saw that Zimmerman's face was bloodied and it appeared to me that his nose was broken."

Witnesses, whose names were redacted from the report, also lent support to Zimmerman's version of what happened.

"He witnesses a black male, wearing a dark colored 'hoodie' on top of a white or Hispanic male and throwing punches 'MMA (mixed martial arts) style,'" the police report of the witness said. "He then heard a pop. He stated that after hearing the pop, he observed the person he had previously observed on top of the other person (the male wearing the hoodie) laid out on the grass."

A second witness described a person on the ground with another straddling him and throwing punches. The man on the bottom was yelling for help, the witness told police.

The documents state that Zimmerman can be heard yelling for help 14 times on a 911 call recorded during the fight.

Teenage girls order pizza, stab delivery woman 50 times on doorstep...

You have to really dig to find out the race of these attackers on a pizza delivery woman.
I wonder if Cadedra Cook is a "white hispanic" too?
If the president had a son would he look like Cadedra Cook?
Will the president attend Elizabeth Hutcheson's funeral or have consoling words?
Will the Justice department send in the FBI to investigate and press "Hate Crime" charges?
If Elizabeth Hutcheson had a gun would she be in jail tonight instead of a funeral home?

Very sad. There are many hard working people in GA. who have been hit hard due to the economy and especially due to gas prices. I ride my bicycle in near the city of Ceadertown.

Last week it was the purposely slanted MSNBC edit of a presidential candidate.

Now this "edit" may give Sandusky a basis for an appeal.

The prosecutors are "red faced" but I guess for NBC, it's just another "edited," slanted news story.

Red-Faced Prosecutors Admit NBC Tape Screw-Up...

In response to a subpoena, NBC News turned over three versions of Bob Costas' NBC News interview with Sandusky, which aired last November on different NBC shows.

One of those versions, which was broadcast on the 'Today' show, contained an erroneous repetition of a key question and answer - about whether Sandusky was sexually attracted to young boys, Nils Frederiksen, a spokesman for the Pennsylvania attorney general said on Sunday.

The repetition, Sandusky's lawyers contend, made it appear to jurors that he was stonewalling.

How many deceptive edits before heads roll?

Why ABC Tried to Blame the Tea Party for Aurora

Brian Ross, chief investigative reporter for ABC News, announced that there's "a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado page on the Colorado Tea Party site," which mentions Holmes "talking about
joining the Tea Party last year."

the purpose of the news media is not primarily to present news as impartially as possible. It is to improve society -- which to liberals means, above all, fighting the right.

So when Brian Ross linked the Aurora mass murderer to the Tea Party, in his mind, he was doing the right thing. Is there one person in America who believes that if Ross had discovered
a James Holmes in Aurora active in the ACLU, he would have reported it?

The primary purpose of every profession, as they see it, is to increase what they call social justice.

Thus, the purpose of college teachers (and increasingly high school and elementary teachers as well) is no longer merely to teach. It is to improve society by teaching students, for example, about global warming. And the purpose of history textbooks is not primarily to teach history, but to make female, gay, black, and Latino students feel good about themselves. (California just passed a law mandating that textbooks include stories of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people.)
