As for the volatility, I expect the 20-day volatility to get to at least around 20 per the June low.
Since the implied volatility (16.7) is not that high in relation to the historical volatility (14.7), upside is probably limited. 1393-1395 is the area of the recently broken trendline from 2011.

Just as a reminder...

The volatility causes erratic moves in BOTH directions.

You have the Washington Heads on the TV this morning and we could see what looks like a miracle rally fade into another huge decline that wipes out the previous lows.

So, if you are a TRADER, meaning short term.

You need balls of steel and iron-clad stops to trade this market.

Stay ahead of the airplane or crash and burn.

Yeah, its Jittery, allright. So far this is looking like a mediocre/flatish day with mediocre internals. Just another day in paradize. They stopped the immediate bleeding and momentum at the 200 DMA, but we are yet to see if they can build on it. I have my doubts. Not an inspirational day for a closing surge. We'll see.

Monday is one of those quasi-holidays. I'm going to be interested to see if those futures JITTER like they did today... These charts are so gappy and unstable they look like Swiss Cheese...
