Gene Inger's Daily Briefing (highlights)- for Monday, Sept. 9, 2013
Historical 'conflict' memories - not only have circulated in many minds of late; but even the President evoked US reticence to support the UK (timely I think not; as I doubt he meant to slap them for the vote not to support him in Syria) back in the 1930's as the Nazi scourge was unfolding. The similarity, as he implied, really isn't applicable; since England was a staunch 'cousin', as well as allied country, whereas Syria's rebels really lack true governance and seem to be funded by outside sources (like the Saudi's); as renegade applies in the case of Damascus too; due to Iranian and Hezbollah help.
