What is not good in Obamacare: 1. The law does impose limits on the minimum percentage they must spend on actual delivery of health care from the revenue they derive from premiums. However no restriction on how high they can escale their rates. The insurers can jack up rates high enough until the percentage they are allowed to keep will deliver desired profits. 2. Obamacare does nothing, zero, nada, zilch to foster competition among health insurers. Obamacare forbids you to buy health insurance outside of your state. You can buy it ONLY from insurers licensed in your own state. 3. Obamacare does nothing, zero, nada, zilch about frivolous law suits. When your doctor pays more for his mal-practice insurance, you pay more to the doctor. 4. Obamacare forces via mandates healthy people to buy deluxe insurance which they may not need. Many people would do much better with catastrophic health problems only insurance. Such insurance is forbidden by Obamacare. Only deluxe insurance is allowed to be sold. 5. Obamacare restricts importation of cheaper medications from abroad. The worst feature of Obamacare is that the government employees will be running a very complex system. If you like IRS and post-office service, you will love Obamacare.

I think I have been paying for Medicare for years.
Now it looks like there will be few if any good doctors who will be available to accept it.

Thousands of doctors fired by United HealthCare...

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)-- In the midst of major changes in health care, United HealthCare has sent thousands of pink slips to Connecticut doctors.
Termination letters went to physicians caring for Medicare patients.
Those letters were sent out to doctors caring for 'Medicare Advantage' patients.
It's a plan, marketed to Seniors to provide additional services through UnitedHealthCare.
A mix of primary care and specialty doctors are affected by it.

That's happening big time in our community which is overweighted with retirees. There have been a number of early retirements, a move from solo practice to group practice and concierge practices are popping up. I don't know if it is Obamacare but the physicians are suddenly all using computer tablets, laptops, etc. which doubles the time for a visit because they are not skilled in using the programs (but I assume that they are trainable).

Unions poised to win delay of Obamacare tax in budget deal...

The tax applies to all group health plans, but unions argue it will raise their healthcare costs while providing them no benefit. The reinsurance tax figured prominently in discussions at a recent AFL-CIO convention, where workers passed a resolution demanding changes to ObamaCare.

Laws can be changed but the president has no lawmaking powers. So why is he being permitted to get away with playing King Barry?

There are several lawsuits working as we speak.
Oklahoma brings lawsuit to force Obamacare law to be followed.
It uses the language of the law to challenge the elaborate system of subsidies, tax credits and individual or employer mandates and fines the act has spawned.
The Oklahoma suit has survived a motion to dismiss and its standing to bring the suit has been affirmed by the District Court. Pruitt hopes for a judgment later this year and feels the case might reach the Supreme Court by late next year.

11,588,500 Words: Obamacare Regs 30X Longer Than Law...

"There is very little legal precedent on this matter," Sandefur said about the case, which could wind its way up to the Supreme Court.
The case, Sissel v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, was filed by PLF on behalf of plaintiff Matt Sissel — a two-tour Iraq War veteran who earned a Bronze Star. It was dismissed in June in favor of the government, but the suit was appealed on July 5.
PLF is set to file motions in the appeal by Oct. 24, but the ongoing government shutdown could spark delays in the case and push arguments or rulings into early next year, Sandefur said.
Until the appeal can be heard, support continues to mount, with amicus briefs filed by the Claremont Institute and another expected on Nov. 8 from the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution.
According to the subcommittee's chairman, Republican Rep. Trent Franks of Arizona, already 50 co-sponsors have lined up in support of H.R. 154, which concurs with the lawsuit's premise that Obamacare violated Article 1, Section 7, Clause 1, of the U.S. Constitution — which states "all bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives."

Forget ObamaCare, RyanCare, and any Future ReformCare

It’s time to start planning for what we’ll do when the current health care system implodes.

Only those dealing daily with the perverse incentives, the Kafkaesque procedures, the endlessly negative unintended consequences, the soul-deadening paper-shuffling, the myriad forms of fraud, the recalcitrant patients who don’t follow recommendations but demand to be magically returned to health anyway, and of course the hopelessness of the financial future of a system with runaway costs, a rapidly aging populace and profiteering cartels focused on maintaining their rackets regardless of the cost to the nation or the health of its people.

The scams are endless, the skims are endless, the fraud is endless, the waste is endless, the fortunes expended to limit “winner take all” liability claims are endless, the paperwork churn is endless and the perverse incentives and negative unintended consequences are endless.

Everyone knows the system is unsustainable, perverse and insane, but they are powerless to change it within the system as it is. The usual sort of political horsetrading that passes for “reform” yielded ObamaCare, which did essentially zero to limit costs or cartel rackets.

A system based on parasitic predation by all the cartel players cannot be reformed or saved from its own perverse incentives and skyrocketing costs. The foundations of U.S. healthcare are rotten to the core. “Reform” is an appealing delusion, but the rot is so deep and so pervasive it is embedded in the society and the culture, beyond the reach of legislative overhauls, no matter how well-meaning.
