If Thursday's low in the SPX is taken out, there will be selling.

One can view the lagging PE-10 as the market being irrationally exuberant (running way ahead of itself) and use the previous multi-year resistance near 27 as the "benchmark". On the other hand, arguments can also be made that the PE-10 is now just catching up. There's nothing to worry about until it gets to 40 level.

Then, there are others that would further analyze the data by using averages (moving or not), Pi, R-Square, X-Square, Time Square, voodoo, etc..

And, just like everything else, sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. I guess that's what makes the market.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. And that's what happens today. Big moves will come. It's going down. Really quiet here tonight. Anyway, unusual options volume. Dollar General (DG) 57.50 November 2014 call volume 71,000 contracts (~ $20 millions) is the most actively traded options today. DG closed at 55.33. I've no idea what's going on. Next to that is 68,000 contracts MSFT 46 August 2014 call. Consider how overbought MSFT has been, this seems over the top. Earning better not disappoint tomorrow. Meanwhile, it's all quiet on AAPL front. AAPL is also reporting earning tomorrow, but none of its options made my top 15 list. There's nothing out of the ordinary. The silence is deafening. I'm looking forward to the usual post-earnings "fast money trades" tomorrow. NFLX didn't give me enough "torque" for my fast money trades today.

It is going down. I agree.

Many participants will be surprised.

This move will incite endless commentary with regard to the term "healthy pullback"

Looking for the futures lows from after hours last week to be tested by the end of the week, but it should hold.

145,000 combining volume of MSFT 46 & 47 AUG calls are currently the top 2 options traded just for the first 90 minutes.

Incredible.
