and now a throwover on the NDX 5 tick chart..pivot looks set...now or never for bears....

And bears fumble it away.. bulls have ball now as long as 4670 holds....

Back below 4670 would be sign bulls got no mojo....

well that was fun day....relatively easy to pick spots... still have a muddled mess on swing time frames, so still sticking to the very short term swings for a bit longer...

Before the close today I went Long positions in AMZN, GOOG, GOOGL & GILD (momentum names that portfolio mgr's will be buying thru end of year to chase performance) and I off-set these with short positions via credit spreads in IWM, NKE and IBB. The spreads expire Dec 4, Dec 11 and Dec 18.

Dasein,
I trade dividend stocks and I trade around the ex-dividend and record dates of stocks with yield >4-5%. You can learn this trading strategy on the internet. It works well as you can be long before record date of a stock and profitably exit during or just after that period and capture the dividend. I recently did this with GSK and KMI.
As for options-trading, my core strategy is selling credit spreads for consistent monthly income from the premium I capture and as the spreads expire worthless. Hypothetically a sample trader can earn between $2,000-3,000 per month conservatively with capital of $100k.
As for my picks I sell call spreads (bear spreads) on stocks UP excessively (like NKE) on headline news. I occasionally sell indexes (like IWM and IBB) when I am directionally-biased or feel its short-term overvalued. I sell put spreads (bull spread) on solid companies that are excessively down on headline news (like QCOM for instance).
Yesterday I sold put spreads near the session close on AMZN and GOOG. I hope this info. helps you and answers your questions.
KT
