I've made good money with FCX, but a recent article in "the Economist" (The latest issue with the gas pumps on the cover p. 58) cites political problems of Indonesia which caused Rio Tinto and BP to pull out of a coal mine they jointly owned, plus problems of Cemex and others (not including FCX). When FCX had their recent rock slide I googled it and there is at least one web site dedicated to bashing their Indonesian oprations. The site is apparently the work of environmentalists, disgruntled tribesmen, who dispute land ownership, political opposition, and other fellow travelers.
