so based on semibizz's methodology, if aapl were to have a year where the net is 0 profit, aapl's stock goes to zero. NAV is right, that's not how it works. over the future income stream of aapl, $2.69 less earned per share is a minor blip in the road. that's why aapl is down only 1%

Well, if aapl to have several years net profit 0, it's stock really can go to 0 ;)

It is just a matter of cushion..
Aapl is down only 1% cos holders of it are reluctant to sell. Yet.. :)

not really, newbee. even if it had zero income for years on end , there is liquidation value, intellectual property, not to mention the mere value of the name apple, i.e. "goodwill". it would take more than a few years to wipe that out.

Well, how many years or took BlackBerry to reduce its name basically to zero?

AAPL eventually is going to single digits... probably sooner than we expect it...

The Smartphone is a nice product, but it's also a forerunner like the Blackberry to something we will see in the future that will be voice activated with no keyboards..

And like Blackberry, AAPL will fail to capitalize on their market share, become complacent, as they already are today - they no longer lead, they are a "me-too Samsung"

So somehow this string morphed from what a loss of $2.69 would do to the stock price, (virtually nothing, and not because the markets are stupid but because $2.69 loss per share in relation to Apple's current market, income and revenues is negligible) and why that will not cut the stock price by more than 30% as suggested by Semibizz, to Apple going the way of Blackberry. If Apple goes the way of Blackberry, it won't be because of a reduction in 2016 or 2017 net income of $2.69 per share.

This is just one of the calamities they will suffer on the way to single digits...

The leader of the pack always attracts predators... yes even government predators.

This is to be expected, the gorillas of one killer app never succeed in transitioning to the next.

That is why IBM failed to dominate PCs, they foolishly underestimated it, along with Digital Equipment Corp (DEC)

Remember what that fool said?  "I can never understand why anyone would want a computer in his home"

The Killer app graveyard... Blackberry, DEC, Wham-o Hula Hoops, Sony Betamax, the list goes on and on...

Funny however how Samsung just continues to feed on the corpses...

Just like they are feeding on AAPL right now...

And you know in their heyday, it looked like the Gorilla's winning streaks would last forever...

Please remit your bullish case for AAPL on this ugly news Counselor...

I am all ears.
