The week after Sept Opex is the weakest week of the year according to Rob Hanna.

I suspect there will not be much downside action until after the FOMC.

Mike Burk:

Average returns for the coming week have been negative by all measures.

Today was a butt-ugly sideways day... is that what happens when you overlay the weakest week of the year on top of the freakin F'ed Cycle?

Overall it was more positive than negative today... RUT was up big in fact.

So look in one hand, and do whatever with the other... this pig hasn't shown any signs of coming in yet...

I'm watching, but experience says not to EXPECT anything but bogus trading until they "announce".

I've got EEM trading up into resistance going into a Fed meeting.  I'm not sure what is going to be said, but the dollar might be rallying.  Gold and gold miners don't look too hot too.  Energy stocks don't look good.  I think the Fed will hold, but the number of dissents will rise.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a split vote.

Semi, I noticed the RUT's relative strength yesterday, too. I was disturbed by the options P/C's, BUT all my momentum has turned up... BUT it turned up without strength which is unreliable... BUT I got a Fully Long/Fully Short Buy... etc. :P

I despise this kind of market.

Although this week is historically weak in general; during election years, this week is weakly up, which matches the typical cycle we have had for Fed mtgs. Based upon this, and the ready to sell options, I foresee us getting a pop tomorrow, and holding it roughly flat through the week before we sell off next week.

Overlaying presidential election, annual, and decennial cycles (warning: it will confuse you)

RUT showed relative weakness today. We have an Options Oscillator Buy.  :P
