Defenders of the status quo are always stronger than reformers seeking change,
UNTIL the status quo self-destructs from its own corruption, and the reformers are free to build on its ashes.

Project MKUltra – sometimes referred to as the CIA's mind control program – is the code name given to a program of experiments on human subjects, at times illegal, designed and undertaken by the United States Central Intelligence Agency. Experiments on humans were intended to identify and develop drugs and procedures to be used in interrogations and torture, in order to weaken the individual to force confessions through mind control.
These tests involved everything from hypnosis and sensory deprivation, to verbal and sexual abuse and other forms of psychological torture, to giving potent psychoactive drugs like LSD to unsuspecting U.S. citizens.

Mounting evidence supports the thesis the Department of Defense has actually seceded from the political elites; they are poised on the horizon to reconstruct a nationalist-minded defense, intelligence and security apparatus.
This is the fundamental paradigm shift few imagined possible.
With General Mattis as Secretary of Defense, Michael Flynn as National Security Advisor, General John Kelly the Department of Homeland Security, a top-of-class West Point graduate in Mike Pompeo brought in to take over and undoubtedly purge the CIA, and a lame duck struggle breaking out over NSA with Admiral Mike Rogers, the implications are obvious.
There are now 854,000 contract personnel with top-secret clearances — a number greater than that of top-secret-cleared civilian employees of the government. While they work throughout the country and the world, their heavy concentration in and around the Washington suburbs is unmistakable: Since 9/11, 33 facilities for top-secret intelligence have been built or are under construction. Combined, they occupy the floor space of almost three Pentagons — about 17 million square feet.
Should the politicians forget their lines and threaten the status quo, Wall Street floods the town with cash and lawyers to help the hired hands remember their own best interests. The executives of the financial giants even have de facto criminal immunity.
It is not too much to say that Wall Street may be the ultimate owner of the Deep State and its strategies, if for no other reason than that it has the money to reward government operatives with a second career that is lucrative beyond the dreams of avarice — certainly beyond the dreams of a salaried government employee.
The corridor between Manhattan and Washington is a well trodden highway for the personalities we have all gotten to know in the period since the massive deregulation of Wall Street: Robert Rubin, Lawrence Summers, Henry Paulson, Timothy Geithner and many others.

There are also elements within the Deep State that view Wall Street's dominance as a threat to America's security and global interests.
The warmongers in the Deep State are civilians, not military. It's popular among so-called Liberals (the vast majority of whom did not serve nor do they have offspring in uniform--that's fallen to the disenfranchised and the working class) to see the military as a permanent source of warmongering.
(It's remarkably easy to send other people's children off to war, while your own little darlings have cush jobs in Wall Street, foundations, think tanks, academia, government agencies, etc.)
These misguided souls are ignoring that it's civilians who order the military to go into harm's way, not the other way around. The neocons who have waged permanent war as policy are virtually all civilians, few of whom served in the U.S. armed forces and none of whom (to my knowledge) have actual combat experience.

New four-part series dives into links between CIA, DEA and military, providing "secret history of the past 50 years."
The CIA couldn't have cared less about stemming the flow of cocaine from Latin America in the 1980's. The agency ignored the Contras' drug smuggling & the cocaine moved by the guerrillas made its way to America's inner cities as crack, fueling an epidemic of addiction and mass incarceration that has helped make America the number one jailer in the world. When San Jose Mercury reporter Gary Webb broke that story, he was maligned as a conspiracy theorist and fired. Webb eventually killed himself.
The series makes the case that the drug trade has always been entwined in America's military adventures: all the way from the CIA's secret experiments with LSD in the early Cold War, to opium production in Afghanistan during the War on Terror. "
Take Bill Clinton's two signature, now-infamous accomplishments: the Crime Bill and NAFTA. The former-President's anti-crime legislation flooded American cities with more cops and upped mandatory minimum sentences for drugs, causing America's prison population to explode.
At the same time, by loosening border restrictions between the US and Mexico, NAFTA helped drug traffickers move massive amounts more product into the US. The trade agreement has been called a "deal made in narco Heaven" – and there's evidence Clinton was well aware of that potential outcome.

Describing a coup attempt against an outsider candidate who, by strategic brilliance, defeated the handpicked candidate of the ruling class.
It involved the highest officials of the FBI and Department of Justice.
They manipulated a FISA Court into letting them electronically surveil the candidate and all who worked with him, unmasked their names, leaked what they found, and they still couldn’t beat the outsider candidate.
Then they engineered the recusal of the attorney general, got his deputy to appoint their best pal to be special counsel. Given free rein, he hired fierce partisans of the defeated candidate, used the ill-gotten information to prosecute three people with minimal connection to the campaign, covered up for the misuse of classified information by the losing candidate, and oversaw the investigation into the new president.”
