Dennis Gartman prognosticates:

"... if Gartman were to own a commodity next year, he still believes that gold is the one for investors' portfolios."

"Gartman doesn't see gold dropping below $1,125, even though the metal has plunged more than 10 percent since the election in November."

I see some problems for gold in 2017.  USD is going to be pretty darn strong against everything with Yellen going rate hike happy until the stock market breaks.

I figure the Chinese will be selling everything not bolted down for USD in order to keep the yuan afloat in 2017.  Treasuries and gold would be the main assets to be sold.

My opinion is worth what you paid for it...I'm back in NUGT...for now.

But my caveat is: "Don't love anything that can't love you back."

It's hard to short gold. Admit it.

UGAZ would have been a better choice!  20 to 50 in 7 weeks!

First week of January ?  It's called 'winter.'   Here in Chicago they are forecasting a high of 17 F a week from this thursday. no Big deal. Usually by third week of January is when we get our coldest temps.  Then after that it starts to warm up, and soon it'll be spring. Kind of like gold prices bottoming here in late December, and then getting warmer into the early months of the new year.  We'll have a higher yearly cycle low, and probably a much higher cycle high this year, than last.  Rinse, cycle, repeat.

fwiw, I like JNUG right now. Once we close above 1160, it'll be off to the races.
