Online shopping (Amazon & China direct) is sucking the life out of brick & mortar, like streaming music killed record stores.
Sears, Macy's and Toys-R-Us are all closing weaker stores in my town.
I've found that I can get appliance & automotive parts online discounted at least 30% to 50% off of a brick & mortar store price.
I asked a local shop if they would price match and was told "No. You are killing me."
My smart mouth replied, "Your price is killing me."
Installing a burnt computer board for my TRANE furnace was nearly $500 including the service call.
The local dealer sells them for $200 but will not sell to me since I'm not licensed.
I got one online the next day for $95 and had it installed in 30 minutes.
