Does it strike anyone else as weird that the ITBM has been on a confirmed Sell for a month while the Cumulative A/D Volume has been on a steadfast Buy since mid November?

Weird.

Well the market has been consolidating in a very narrow range for over a month. How did it look durning another similar period.  Say from 8/5/2016 - 9/8/2016?

IMHO, US equity markets are now in "Euphoria" phase. Most technical setups fail in this phase. Mass emotions, aka "Mob Behavior" are not predictable events.

How is the ITBM on a confirmed sell if it's still above its zero line?

It does not suprise me in the least......   I've seen the technicals recover and my bet lost....   As of last week my trend indicators are decisively bullish, while leading ST indicators are mildlly overbought...  The longer the market goes without a sell-off the more bullish the scenario becomes....     I used to look at ITBM, but no longer do...   I look at %Bullish charts for $BPSPX and $BPNDX.   They continue to be bullish and over their 10-day MA....  Once they drop below my outlook will become bearish.....

So to me it's pretty clear... market is sitting on too many ETF shares... and the boyz are taking full advantage of it...

Tell me why... VIX is up .58

Yet 3X Long UVXY is DOWN .75?

Hmmmm?

yeah, that and other stuff is weird too.IMHO ,the odds are pretty good for the following scenario:Keep it floating up here till the weekend then pull the rug out from under it ,  start 5% pullback , then new highs.    zorro.gif

ITBM gave a sell in late July and confirmed in early August, Cumulative A/D Volume flirted with 3 sells in August, but finally only gave one in first week of Sept. So a month isn't crazy. These ought to get in synch, though, soon. I view the Cumulative A/D as more of a "condition" indicator so I guess I haven't been looking at it for confirmation.

I don't use the zero line. I use summation as my confirmation. This works pretty well for swing trades.
