It has been strong buys for multiple weeks, but next week may be different!

This seems to be a hold your nose and buy market.  I had made an assessment that the VIX was going to rise, but it really didn't.  The EEM is the omen for me.  That ETF always goes down first before the US markets do.  The beginning of the year liquidity is strong all over the world.  If Yellen raises at the March meeting, I think it will hit the EEM, but the US markets are the stallion.  QQQ is the market to hold with Snapchat IPO coming too.

It seems "the crowd" is paying too much attention to "implied volatility".

 

And you know what happens when too many traders are looking at the same thing...yep...it no longer "works"

Well, we did have hourly weakness on Wednesday, followed up by a stealth sign of weakness on the bearish upthrust yesterday...

 

Was very cute, the 1 cent tick over Wednesday's high...

 

But from a price perspective, we're just too close to those 2 highs to derive anything bearish yet...

 

We need real signs of weakness,  with gaps filling and swing lows broken on volume to think about if a top might have been made....

My stuff says no top as well, though a Swing short is in order. I entered IWM 135p Next fri exp. I'm expecting a low next week around 2305 es....  From there another attempt at a high....

GS gapped UNDER that support level at 248.51 so that's resistance now...

 

Then the gap fill at 249.44.
