They stopped when they reached about 40% of the market for agency securities.

They did the same thing when Bernanke bought 40% of the US treasury debt with maturities of 5 years and above.

 

Japan and Europe should be there with their respective debts also.   I think Germany, France, and Italy have about 5 trillion dollars debt oustanding.

Then why are they still buying them if they have "stopped".
