The system was stopped out yesterday for a small loss and is now in cash again. The tail of the risk window just ended had a stinger in it giving the system an unwelcomed whipsaw as I foresaw in my last post. I thought the whipsaw might occur due to the saber rattlers. Little did I suspect that the system would get beaten black and blue by big blue. I do have the rotten feeling that it was forced out very near a short term bottom, but the discipline of the system stops takes precedence over my suspicions.

The next risk window early next week could be very important if this market can't find some footing pretty soon.

Regards,
Douglas

My suspicions apparently were correct. I just knew that cotton pickin' stop would get me out at a low, but it's there to save me from myself so I just have to accept looking stupid to avoid the risk of a being really stupid and taking a catastrophic loss. Speaking of stops, I hate to say it, but the system buy stop is at DJIA 20637 at 3 pm today. Sell low - buy high, heck of a system. Thank goodness lent is over, now if I could just remember where I hid that danged bottle.

Regards,
Douglas

Dasein, every time I tweak the system, I seem to end up worse off. The problem is not the system, but this test that I have set up for this FF Blog which uses an index mutual fund and only allows actions to be taken at the end of the day which doesn't permit inter-day stops. Markets that close on highs or lows then reverse strongly will catch this sort of test out which is just what happened. I'm not giving up on the test set up just yet. I just like to complain about things that I can't change. I find complaining about inescapable facts like the sun rising in the east cathartic.

Douglas
