It looks like the QQQs actually follow the action of the XLE energy sector etf.  I think the QQQs are traded by more retail speculators than the XLE energy companies which are probably dominated by institutions.  XLE basically traded up in a straight line from early 2016.  QQQs had a lot of hiccups in 2016 but recovered very quickly.  I think it was because liquidity was extremely high in 2016 and early 2017.  Everyone can see that the Fed has taken the punchbowl away bigtime.  Silver dropped big on Friday.  I think the Fed wants to create a downtrend in the markets before the new Fed appointments are made in January 2017.

There never was PEAK oil! With all those pesky regulations removed, US is now a energy exporter! Hard to believe after living through oil embargo's of past decades. That is knife in back of Russia (& Putin) because Russia is a big gas station pretending to be a country. With oil prices plummeting, Putin is in the wringer. In the meanwhile I am enjoying the $2.02 gas here in Florida.
