now it's all clear.......your time frame is the century and that explains everything. Just as an observation the dow in 1929 started to drop and it took till 1954 to recover. Only 25 years.....a quarter of your time frame.....not so much. The nasdaq in 2000 started to drop and it took 15 years to recover. I don' t want to be caught in such a kind of situation when it happens.....and it will happen again. I want to be long precious metals when they say the party is over.....surely not long the dow or else

As long as the United States population continues to expand then over the long term the market will continue to go up....

 

If we become Japan and have a declining population, look no further to the Nikkei at what happens, 27 years and still no where close to the top....

As long as the United States population continues to expand then over the long term the market will continue to go up....

hey cheif....what was your yearly average performance for all those years ? There are people who are not interested in partecipating to anything like that and make triple digit gains per year.
