I'm working on some stuff (to fill in the gap left by ISEE's "problem"), but since everything is in flux, I thought I'd see if anyone had ideas about the VIX for ST 1-3 days trading.

Novel?  Can't really say...

XIV - up 63 percent on swing signals year to date...

Good luck and good trading.

I bought a little VXX last week, down a few pennies, holding it here.

I added a little more VXX yesterday.  I am light in the market for the last 2 weeks, so I'm positive for today.  NK threatened to cross Trump's red line, said they are going to shoot a missile at Guam (ok 20 miles out), this has the potential to get worse before it gets better.  I'm not expecting a war out of it.  Iraq had no big savior to help it out, but NK has China and they are next door and have much easier access to get men and supplies in than the US.  Much dicier than going into Iraq.  I'll hang in with VXX a bit longer and see what happens, but I'm not planning to add to that position.  In a bull market, VXX goes down most of the time.  It has a short term focus, usually very short term like a few days.

I sold all the VXX today.  This seemed totally driven by the N Korea situation, and I expect it will get resolved peacefully.  There is plenty of tough talk, and the market managed a slight gain today.  Picked up 10% in a couple of weeks, worth the effort.  I could hop back in next week, but I'm not planning on it, just keep it as a possibility.
