In CANSLIM, we used to have an observed exception to the 9-month cycle which occurred at the start or the end of a bull market and tended to have an extended bull run of 12-to-18 months at the end like the one in 1999, 2003, and 2009.  Never heard of a one-year cycle.  There is seasonality which can abbreviate or extend the old 21-week cycle.
