History suggests not...
since 1981 every third year has at some point produced prices below the previous year close.
Also since '99 a consistent three year cycle has produced an October low which erases all year to date gains with 1999's Oct low coming up short by 4 points or 0.35% . Just don't neglect to buy when (if) RD makes his call - because equities are still the go to income producing asset and will likely remain as such until yield on UST Notes exceeds large cap dividend yield by some margin.
