With GE going down this much, I wonder how the rest stocks keep the dow new high everyday.
you wonder ....you forgot ibm its called rotation .....just wait till u see what the dow does when ge and ibm join the rest of the list going up......the dow divisor is now a multiplier but you knew that allready eh?

With GE going down this much, I wonder how the rest stocks keep the dow new high everyday.
Keep in mind that with GE trading under $20, it has the least amount of weighting of all the Dow stocks...currently it's at .58% of the index weight.
In essence, it has very little influence on the average.

P.S....the heaviest weighted issue in the Dow (which means it's also the highest priced component) is Boeing.

I did - and won. I made 25 points on Nasdaq which offset my loss on "short of the century". And I am sure, I will make money on that short.
Where is yours? I repeat, it is easy to point mistakes of other people, but where are your calls?
