Yes, there were great reasons to cover today... from Tomorrow's  SPX Forecast posted at 5pm ET

 

 

SPX - PULLBACK ON EVEN LIGHTER VOLUME CONSOLIDATION CONTINUES - CLOSES UNCH and on an NR7 - since absolutely nothing was proven here to the downside, we think this favors another bounce... When volume dries up on lower lows, we're setting up a volume/price divergence bounce to test resistance normally.  Of course another shoe could drop in the ongoing melodrama in Washington, but we can't forecast that, and we have to work with the data that's presented and that says to stand by for further bounce, possibly dramatically wider band trading range...

Break and close below 2600 for more than a few days; Santa rally will have to be cancelled
