I'll keep this short.  Looking back the market rose on the following economic and political news.

 

Trump elected

De-regulation

Corp tax cut

Others I forgot???

 

Why has it been going down:

Interest rate fears

Trade war fears

Facebook problems

 

Future downward pressrure

Meeting with North Korea fails - fear of war.  If it succeeds there really isn't any upside.

 

Donald Trump losing support of his base.  He has become the Dems & Rep b*tch.  He base and others are seeing it.  People are tired of his blustering and no results.

Muller investigation

 

Midterm Elections - the Rep. get killed.  There is a very good chance Trump will be a very early lame duck and ineffective in his remaining time. 

 

Business and Consumer optimism wanes.

 

Trade War fears

 

Did I miss anything?

 

I know this isn't technical analysis but the market has been trading off of these things recently.

 

As another poster said ... We may have seen a generational top.

Just too unstable, lacks the character, temperament, and intellect (does not read? watches cable TV all day? can't sit down long enough to take in the daily Intelligence report? does not fully understand the details and important issues? etc) to be President of the Greatest Nation in the history of human civilization.  Corruption. Yup.  Nicely done.  That pretty much wraps it up although you have left his women in court unwrapped.

 

Might add a historical "rhyme" -- last businessman elected President was Herbert Hoover (although some might argue for George W. Bush with the final results being only a matter of degree).

politics    ...blah blah blah.....has absolutely nothing to do with the stock market....just like  WWII. korean war....vietnam war......continental illinois ...savings and loan collapse,,,,crashes......kennedy assasination... headlines and nothing more.....if you want to know what the market will do just listen to it....it speaks its own language.....of course most of you would get lost driving thru russia ..
