$506B Tariffs versus $130B Tariffs. Who is gonna hurt more? By a factor of 4:1.....
Another way to look at it, $130B is much smaller slice of US economy than
$506 Billion is of China's economy. If full scale trade war occurs (unlikely, China
will blink first) ever wonder how many million Chinese manufacturing workers will be
walking the streets?

Be a lot of screaming if this little spat ends up in the South China Sea...
All over Asia and elsewhere.

Rumor from BJ that Chinese leadership issued a notice to the government agencies including the foreign ministry no one should make comments on trade talks without the leadership's authorization, after the foreign minister Wang Yi's misleading comments on intention of trade talks at a recent meeting with U.S. Secretary of State. Obviously the leadership currently does not want to go for a trade talk.
I think this guy has a more insightful analysis:

Though no one really knows what a cat will do when cornered, China needs our capitalistic money in order to carry out their Communist Manifesto, so I don't see this as being a reasonable expectation.
Prediction: this should all be over by year's end as the "paper tiger" is offered a deal it can't refuse which will allow them to save face.
