Then there will be tariffs on another $267 billions of Chinese goods and the trade war is escalating fast..............

That would be "shooting oneself in the foot".

 

That said...the pressure over in China right now is so acute that I'm now pushing up the timeline from December to October for a resolution...though they may decide to wait till after the mid terms to see where the power lies even though it may become critical by that stage.

Spoke with a guy on the plane the other day and he said his company was "eating the tariffs" on all existing orders affected... starting to tariff surcharge on new orders now...

 

I wonder how other big companies will handle it?

Pretty much the same thing...you either eat the increase as being temporary on your cost of goods sold - OR - your increase your prices to offset the tax of your sales - OR - you source from other countries (which includes getting up and moving your plants/manufacturing where more favorable tariffs have been negotiated).
