1 ES with 10 point stop = $500 at risk

 

4 SPY calls @ $1.25 = $500 at risk

 

1 ES 10 points profit = $500

 

4 SPY at 10 point SPX move = 25% gain = $125

 

 

Throw in some VIX drop and it gets worse, options are not worth using for day trading. If you must swing trade options

then day trade the futures to hedge or pay for them.

Futures all the way when it comes to swing trading

Options would be good for scalping and that's it, IMO

Hmmmm, I've been selling out of the money option premium for decades so they are good for that.  Have been experimenting with the new weekly options selling them and is very similar to day trading which I have also done.  kind of the same effect if your wrong you can buy a little time unless stops get hit.  I'm quite surprised how much premium is in them even two days out!!
