why so much pessimism in the fundamentals?
Looks like a lot of data covered there.
When NYAD reaches new ATH's, then price will follow, and without a big correction first. The price action off the Dec. lows looks like 2017 again, bull market with small pullbacks along the way. Not really sure what happens after that. Most are still looking for new lows at some point, few even consider significant new highs.

Because known fundamentals (conventional wisdom) runs about 6-8 weeks behind the actual commitment of investment capital.
Putting it another way, technical analysis allows the student to cheat in knowing what the future fundamentals are likely to be before everyone else does.
