As a wise friend once said:  "Everyone is a little bit right" ... I think the South Beach book has some good points and some other comments that are pure baloney  :) .  Can't remember the specific items I balked at. Nonetheless ... there is useful information there ... it's a matter of looking at all puzzle pieces and tweaking them to suit your needs.  Personal experimentation is essential.


Thank you, CC. Agreed on the personal experimentation -- a pretty specific regimen won't be right for all. One thing that always hits me is how far many of us developed-world inhabitants go in our pursuit of pleasure, and in the long-term just how bad this can be for us, nutritionally.

Personally, "not enough" is almost never the problem. If I cut out most or even a good bit of the excess, then things are set to rights. Hard to do, though, for us lovers of excess.
