Is Normal Now A Mental Illness?

snip<Is your child easily distracted? Or perhaps he talks excessively, or can become impatient?

Most, if not all, parents would perhaps answer yes to these questions, as they are, what many of us believe to be, normal expressions of child behaviour.

Not so, according to Psychiatry. It could be that your child has "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder", a "disease" of the mind that could require medical treatment.>snip

Hhmmm!!!!! - I wonder how much the drug companies paid him for this statement?...

WC,

I dread this medical industry and the drug mafia !

A few months back, there was talk about reducing the threshold for cholestrol levels (obviously to boost the Cholestrol drug sales). Per the new new threshold, if the Doctors were to adapt it, more than 75% of the U.S adults would fall in high cholestrol category. Criminals !

And now they want to send the normal kids to the Psychiatrists. Criminals !

This one belongs over the Sanity Board. I do want to say that all the attitude modification drugs can have developmental effects. That's not good for kids and I think a horrific idea. Mood alteration should be saved for adults and only the most out of hand (dangerous) kids. Mark

FROM WHAT I HAVE EXPERINENCED MOST OF THE "PROBLEM BEHAVIOR" IS DUE TO THREE THINGS: 1 SUGAR 2 SUGAR 3 SUGAR IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS ABOUT THIS, START READING THE INGREDIENTS ON THE FOOD AND DRINKS THEY (AND YOU) ARE INGESTING. SUGAR TRIGGERS AN INTRICATE ALARM RESPONSE IN YOUR/THEIR ENDOCRINE SYSTEM WHICH RESULTS IN ADRENALIN PRODUCTION AND LOW/HIGH BLOOD SUGAR DURATIONS - HENCE THE "PROBLEM BEHAVIOR". THE DRUGS TRY TO MUTE THE EFFECTS OF BLOOD SUGAR ISSUES. TREATED THIS WAY, IT IS AN ENDLESS & FUTILE BATTLE THAT GIVES RISE TO NUMEROUS SIDE EFFECTS. K

I hate to just accept the simple answer, but I'm absolutely in agreement, kopfhauter. As a general rule, sugar is the culprit. Mark

Have you ever noticed that those who question the growing use of Methylphenidate (most commonly sold as Ritalin) are met with hostility and anger. What's that about? I believe the article posted below touches on it. It amazing how so much "junk" science and unproven theory becomes "religiously" held belief.

Oh ... don't get me started on this. I shall never stop.

Suffice to say, most drugs for ADD are very dangerous.
What is our world coming to when parents let their kids
drink junk sugary soda, white flour pizza, pop tarts, chips and other CR@P ! Then
go to the doctor and have him prescribe RITALIN for ADD. It's insane!
People are asleep at the wheel. It should be classified as child abuse.
