Echo, Thanks for pointing out that my large type comes across as "yelling" ... that is not at all my intention. I simply think LARGE is easier to read (especially when one is staring at a computer screen for hours on end). But, I have no desire to offend, so will re-consider my type size. Best to you, C.C. :) Alkalize, Oxygenize and be Insulin wise.

Hey, CC, not sure if you've had time to read the result of the new, huge study on Women's Health just published. It found no benefit from "strict" diets, such as the kind you pound the table for. Here's from today's NY Times Editorial: But the study found no evidence that an increase in carbohydrates, the typical consequence of following a low-fat diet, led to weight gain, higher blood glucose levels or a greater risk of diabetes.

Here's the link to the NY times article: http://www.nytimes.c...-fat.html?fta=y

I think the study highlights what most of us physicians know:
1. smoking is bad
2. moderation is good

thought you'd be interested.

I always though cookie supported low carb diets. If so this article supports her ideas. Actually I am amazed that they even did a study like this. You mean that there are people out there that still believe that low fat high carb diets work.

I eat lots of fats and very few carbs. The rigtht fats are absolutely essential. I have read most of the studies and there is little doubt.
The harder I work, the luckier I get.

Thanks SS.

One thing is for sure ... there is a great deal of obesity, depression, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, cancer and other chronic illness in this country. One has to ask WHY? This is not normal. People do not have to live this way.

Have spent 4 years writing a book about this, so would be silly to repeat here.

If people are happy with their health outcomes ... they have energy, are free from symptoms of illness, free from pain and not dependant on alcohol / drugs and have decent objective NUMBERS for blood pressure, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting insulin, HBA1C, resting heart rate ... then:

they shoud just keep eating what they've been eating ... just keep enjoying life. BUT ... if one is having problems, then the only solution is to at least TRY something else. If you keep believing what you've been believing, you'll keep achieving what you've been achieving.

C.C. :)
