If you can answer that question, then maybe you can figure out why the myeloma developed in the first place...

The research is ongoing and we're closer all the time. In the meantime, we still like to cure the ones who have the disease NOW....

Myeloma is getting close.
Hodgkins... cured
Prostate? 15 year disease free intervals.
Tetanus? Gone
Rheumatic fever? Gone
Colon cancer? Rates are dropping like a stone. Almost under control.
Diptheria? Gone
Measles? GOne (except those who are still not vaccinating their children)
Syphilis? treated.
Acute Myelogenous Leukemia? ALMOST GONE! Amazing.

Stick around. Medicine is getting better all the time.

calm cookie says:

"These sort of wildly false, aggressive and exhaggerated accusations are the reason I usually choose not to respond to you. Quite frankly, I find it hard to believe you're even a physician ... "

first:
major east coast college. Major in biology with special in metabolism and obesity.
Completed work on genetic aspect of obesity at the Rockefeller Univeristy in NYC.
Medical school at major New York City medical school.
Residency at major east coast University Teaching Hospital.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Volunteer twice a month in "free clinic" for patients with no money.
No malpractice suits.

second:
from you I have heard that:
DMSO is good for your back.
"Alkalinize" your diet (even rogerdodger asked you for some proof of these claims)
Prednisone is deadly
Lipitor is no good (your words were "don't get me started")
Robert Mendelsohn was "right"
Peer Review medical science is bogus (your words "And don't get me started on "peer reviewed" medical "science" ... there is so much MONEY in that industry and so many people with their hands in each others pockets that almost ANY research result can be purchased, for the right price")
Medical Journals won't publish re: herbs (your words "or nettle tea for headaches")

and the list goes on. You have been asked for "proof" of these claims but shirked any real answers.

Any retort or advice I've given has been accompanied by citations and I have citations for any of my statements. None of my suggestions are "mine" but rather the sum total of the collective knowledge of current ethical standards of practice.

Anyway, this is not about whether you like me or not. I'm sorry you don't. It's about truth in teaching health ideas and integrity.

Rule of thumb... try not to use anything with the -one suffix...

Mostly masks symptoms and does not solve the problem.

SB,

Thanks for your post. I agree that most drugs only treat symptoms of disease. They do nothing to solve the underlying problem. It's understandable that many physicians love using prednisone because the quick results in alleviating symptoms are nothing short of miraculous. Unfortunately, that quick fix, as Harvard educated Dr. Weil suggests, comes with a whole host of serious, long term (often permanent) and debilitating consequences.

Most patients know nothing about these issues. I believe they have a right to know. I believe people have the right to make informed choices. I am not against ALL of modern medicine, or ALL drugs ... that would be ridiculous (as I have said, in several posts). I am only attempting to help people make wise health care decisions (and to be alert consumers), based on reasonable evidence of safety and efficacy.

My evidence is supported by some of the best scientific minds in this country, including Dr. Walter Willet of Harvard School of Public Health, and many other unconventional, yet highly educated professionals who are brave enough and wise enough to step out of their cultural conditioning.

It has been my honor and great pleasure to personally meet some of these people. Dr. Richard K. Bernstein (a 52 year survivor of type 1 diabetes ... and a diabetes specialist in New York) is one of the bravest and most interesting physicians I've ever met. He also gets tremendous results with his patients. Anyone with diabetes should read his book "The Diabetes Solution."

I love this journey of discovery.

Best to all, C.C. :)
