Friend called last night to say that the TV show "Boston Legal" had, what he described as a "great segment" on food ingredients. Apparently an overweight diabetic was attempting to sue the makers of some twinkie-like snack cakes.

Candice Bergen gave court room speech about how children in this country are being "killed" by food ingredients (how true - childhood obesity is increasing at alarming rates). She read the package ingredients, then specifically mentioned a few dangers ... among them: how high fructose corn syrup blocks a hormone called "Leptin" which the body must have in order to signal satiety. Leptin deficiency causes one to continue feeling hungry.

Truth is, big food company's have whole departments whose sole job is to find chemical ingredients that will make people EAT MORE of their crappy junk food. The science of food addiction is well established ... and killing kids ... and ignorant adults ... just for profit. It's sad.

But am glad to see mainstream TV tackling these important issues.

Read labels, my friend - and eat WHOLE, unprocessed foods.

Long life and health to all, C.C. (am still long two funds - not watching much)
