while relaxing Saturday near Jackson, WY we observed spirals and strands of floating spider webs in the sky as high as our eyes could see...a few minutes later we observed that every strand of grass and plant in a 60-acre ranch pasture was connected by single strands of spider silk which were shimmering in the sunlight.

This was a sureal experience and wonder if anyone else here has seen such a thing. We wonder if it is somehow related to heightened spider activity in the final days of Indian Summer before the long and cold winter at high elevation begins.

and Mark,

bordering the ranch pasture I mention above, there is an 8-lb cutthroat trout living under the overhanging bank of a small tributary of the Snake River.
