Does anyone have a recommendation for a quality trading simulator? I'd like to test some trading ideas on actual market data, and step through the trading action in different market conditions (sideways, trending, etc.) to learn about the ideas, prove the concept (or abandon), etc., and practice the strategies in different conditions. I'd also like to test the same strategies in different markets (currencies and futures) to see how some ideas play out, without taking a risk by trading them live. This is a different goal than back-testing a mechanical model, and requires interaction with the market.

I did find one simulator through Google searches (link below), but I'm curious if there's a simulator that is well known, relatively bug free, and recommended by a majority of professional traders. Here's the one I found via Google to give an idea of the type of sofware I'm looking to find:

http://www.tradingsi...torsoftware.com

This company has intraday data sets that work with their simulator on a number of markets covering up to 6 years, which is great. It also plays back the market at real time speed, or up to 5x real time to step through the market data quickly (which is a great feature). However, I did seem to encounter some bugs in my brief look, so I'm hoping someone might know of a better piece of software.

Thanks in advance!
