Really have to laugh at anyone who has the guts to invest in wildly fluctuating single stocks ... one is totally at the mercy of hardened criminals. American stock market ... only place where so called business men can rob you blind and get away with it. Now when Martha tried it, she went to jail. Women aren't allowed to be ruthless.   Double standard ... we women just have to look good ... kiss like hollywood babes and accept that an altoid is our three course meal. So your complaint is criminal ruthlessness? Or the idea that you believe there is a double standard? Honestly Cookie, I saw alot of guys going to prison for various crimes. I only saw one woman...and she did lie to the Feds. IT

Hi IT, I'm no Martha Stewart fan ... and as the Aussies like to say - any "tall poppy" taking a dive is equal entertainment (let them all wear Fed ankle bracelets in their country estates). The more I look at America, the more comically sad it becomes. From record numbers of teenage girls undergoing cosmetic surgery, to viagra discounts for frequent flyer miles. Where will it end? There are the controllers and the controlled, the ones who hold the strings and the bouncing puppets ... and not much in between. Happy trading, C.C. :P (p.s. - I have no complaints ... life's a fascinating journey)

As it is written in the Quran: "at the end of the game both the pawns and the kings are put back in the box" mm

So what are you going to do about it...

"at the end of the game both the pawns and the kings are put back in the box"

I believe in Arabic, what it meant there was not the box, it is actually 'the coffin'. It meant to say that anyone who cheated the others for his own good in this world will eventually have to explain them in front of the God in the other. But I like this translation, it is more humane... :)

CC you are beginning to sound like the radio guru who says the stock market is nothing but a Ponzi scheme.

So cynical. But all too often true. <_<

Kisa,

I always understood the quote to mean that whether you are rich or poor, wise or dumb, humble or arrogant, we are all dead in the end, so better to chill out and be kind along the way....

Hey Ponzi ... er, uh ... I mean Roger. :P Cute picture of Martha ... stylish prisoner.

Agree with your radio guru. Sometimes the swindling is subtle and sometimes, downright "in your face" (like todays eBay move). No longer survival of the fittest (though that helps) ... rather survival of the wisest ... and most poetic. :angel_not:  :bye:
