Revolutions happen right before our eyes and we usually miss the significance.
When was the last time you sent a telegraph message? STOP.
When was the last time you saw someone with a pager?
When I got one 25 years ago, I had people ask me if I was a doctor. LOL
Before the pager I had a 20 Lb. answering machine which cost several hundred dollars.
For years, we had 2 newspapers in Tulsa. And 3 TV stations which signed off at midnight.
We now have one newspaper, breaking cable news 24/7 and internet sources which beat the cable news.
The local paper has almost no mid week readers.
I have placed rental ads mid-week but it is a waste of money as the ONLY response I get is from the Sunday paper. (The Sunday paper has all the coupons and magazine inserts.)
The Tulsa World has had to join the internet revolution as the TulsaWorld.com.
It was around 1450 when Johannes Gutenberg began printing with his moveable type press.
So I would say that the "PRESS" has had a pretty good long run.
Someday we can tell our grandchildren about the good old days when there were paper boys.
And millions of trees had to be chopped down just to read yesterday's news.
