Perusing the comments here it seems to come down to this: The market will be volatile after the Fed. Many appear to be "nervously" long and willing to let this drift/slam down to the low 1400 level, nearly 20 SPX points lower than where we are right now. But many appear to think that will be "it" and up we go, to recapture 1440, in short order. Not too many think all of this will be a "non-event". Not too many think we'll collapse and crumble below that 1404 level. Is that how everyone sees it? mm

There's a surprising number of people expecting 5-10% correction, at least from the talking heads on CNBC.

the market is in a trading range. in reality no one knows what is going to happen next. probabilities is all a trader can hope for. anyone who says they know the future is deceiving themself, and anyone who falls for that hype is a fool. I may be leveraging long on DOW weekly close above 12,660 and NYA weekly close above 9,250..until then it is my trading practices as usual. I am short very few positions right now. This action is good for the pharma group. Ya figger a healthy does of tagamet, schizo pills and Nitro are being consumed today by the traders. They probably just mix it into their favorite cocktail. Then just break out the 15 second charts and they are all set for trading.  I closed my QID trade yesterday and am flat here....

I'm currently up in the air on whether we break down or up on the trading range of the indicies. My formula shows we will likely break lower due to the high OEX put/call ratio ( 10-day MA ) and the OEX put/call interest. EW Counts are generally pointing to a lower base to rise from ( bullish scenario ). Best Regards, barry

No one knows which direction the market will take. I can't comment on CNBS. But, I agree with mainman's assessment of the general consensus HERE. (Maybe a small correction but nothing to worry about before new highs.) To me the sentiment on the board seems to be the opposite of the night of April 28th 2005. I am not fading anyone, my own system has me short (tech, midcaps, and semi's) from Jan 18th at the close. I don't see any reason to cover at this point. If we see the highs again on NDX and volume improves I will likely cover and possibly go long. Good trading, C
