Anyone of you fabulous charters ever chart the relation between the number of topics and posts and the price action in the market? Seems awfully quiet to me around here....

Yes.
Mark includes it in his ISA Daily Trade Navigator.
It's called the T4 "Traders Talk T-something T-something...."

a. the market is going to die a slow death here, or
b. we are about to "explode" in some direction?
