And for those who REALLY want to know what to expect from la full lunar eclipse... the lines signify general eclipses, the yellow arrows on the SPX chart are the full eclipses.

I still wonder if markets show any difference between lunar eclipse (full moon) and solar eclipse (new moon)? PS: Remember that if you get the "image not displayed" message you can usually right click on it and select "view image" and get it. You can also find it's URL under "properties". However, I can not get the SPX chart to resize either way. PSPS: I went to edit this post and saw a box which asked: "Reason for edit?" Is this part of the anti-terrorism Patriotic Act?

Thank you very much. I was just wondering about that. On another note: I do not like the resizing feature, even when it works. Others do not also. Perhaps you can poll the membership - maybe I'm just a grouch.

It's not a size thing, it's a bandwidth thing.
That said, lemme see if I can do something about the images not showing up.

In the meantime:
dates of eclipses 2001-2010
SPX with eclipses marked

If I click on the URL, it returns an error message page.
Also, the gifs are titled delete_this.gif?

By the way, Roger, I ran some very long term data (djia to 1928) on the eclipses (tedious to get the data in the table format they give).
The end result has a slightly negative edge (-0.33% mean vs +0.13% mean 5 day gain on all data). Also, if the data occurred on non-trading days, it was excluded.

It was run on lunar data. Haven't looked at solar.

I've got the same issue here. This is not consistent across all machines. I'm trying to figure out if it's a setting on MY machine.

Researching...

If I have an image on my server, and it is referenced into a post and served from there, how does
it affect your bandwidth?

I know that you reduce when one uses your server to host, which is why I rarely do.

As Picasso said when he completed Guernica, "If I wanted small, I would have made small." :)
