Saw an interesting discussion the other day that VIX may be less of a factor lately with proliferaion of Ulta short funds of all kinds. As volume and liquidity in short funds growth more and more people may be using them as a hedging/defensive tool.

I think it may be part of a factor, but maybe not. Since options volume is growing on exchanges too.

I still think there is a good chance we'll see VIX in traditional 40s are before this is over.

VIX is indicating this action is corrective, that's all I need to know for now... As long as they keep buying it affords me opportunities to SELL higher.

There's no fear in the markets when they are willing to throw away the "highly speculative" issues for the "highly improbable" issues...

Not worried about financials..but, I'm buying puttys against all my long stocks. If big down Friday I'll position for a crash. I think its the Isreali news today that's knocking us down. NDX holds 1806 low...I'll only be bearish if we close under 1800.

I guess I need to make an adjustment to my TV set, because I couldn't believe these Economist Jackasses saying that losing 50K+ jobs and Unemployment rate accelerating to 5.7% was GOOD for Wall Street...
