Is its weakness versus the basket of currencies that make up the dollar index as represented by UDN, Powershares DB US Dollar Index Bearish Fund (ETF):

Same goes for Silver:

http://stockcharts.c....html?s=SLV:UDN

Both ratio charts are acting weaker than Gold and Silver in the US Dollar.

Of postive note is that sentiment among speculators as reflected in the COT's is the most bearish in 12 years.

IMO the "problem" is you are over analyzing this, as Fib said a while back "spike tops and long drawn out bottoms" - I agree

Senor, mui years ago the XAU was in a major decline following a substatial rise. Semi had predicted much lower levels. You called a bottom and began buying. From that point, precious metals and the miners enjoyed a meteoric rise. I also remember Silver being below $5 per ounce and loco predictions of silver reaching $18 per ounce. Do you think we are close enough to a bottom here to start buying selected mining companies? k

Don't fight the trend...

It's going to 64 based on this monthly chart, but be prepared, it will overrun.

I wouldn't be in any rush to buy these pigs.

There are so many guys buried in them, it will take a long, long time to work off the overhead pressure.

There ain't gonna be no V-Bottom.
