Since 1970, there have been four other times when a daily price opened above the 20ma/50ma/200ma and closed below all three. Whatever your bias, expect to run into a BIG move now. And when you do, don't argue with it.

(PS~ 1971 was also 200 over 50 over 20 until now)

Well, it's kinda up to the Feds, if they just leave things alone, we'll probably move down smartly on volume, but I expect they'll pony up ... probably not til after New Years but you never know. I'm expecting a full point cut, whenever they do it.

Now, let's take a look at what's really been going on with the SPX for the past 7 years.

See the Wide Range Candle on SPX(4/4/00), although this chart does not give volume, that was the highest volume after the tech crash began in March of '00. The range is 1416 - 1526.

Now look at this year's SPX.

We've struggled with that range all year long and it's still not resolved.

Sheesh, take away the eggnog already. I was right the first time... 200 over 50 over 20 is virgin territory.

(Wait, let me finish this one first). :swoon:

Since this summer the trading band has narrowed, we ended today about in the center of it.

But when I reaaally zero in on it it's all about what happened on 11/8, the last day of extreme volume in the SPX, today we closed inside the 11/8 candle...
