As I mentioned in my interview today, I wanted to put up a historic chart of the Fully Long/Fully Short for folks to evaluate for themselves. Yesterday's sell was pretty good.
One day readings >300% "Sell, or Sell Strength"
One day readings <50% "Buy ore Buy Weakness"
(use your own tools to fine tune entries and apply a trend and perhaps a Bull/Bear market filter.)
We track this every day in the Wall St. Sentiment Daily

Actually, in this context, I'd say that I'd not read any more into it than a ST Sell, which was profitable. Otherwise, I'd take a more Bearish view.

Great stuff Mark.
It makes Friday's reading look a bit smaller.
But don't you know that sentiment doesn't work.
Don't forget that the left side of the readings were during a nice bull market.
That context should be considered.
I find the sentiment at the October '07 top to be quite fascinating.
It is so muted.

Thanks Mark....It is possible to add 50 and 200dma to your chart?........On the latest polls....Those high bars were the results of big jumps in the indexes.....
It also showed the bottom pickers were everywhere.....Look at past declines.....(e.g. 07/15/08)
