Was with a couple this weekend that live in Greenwich Ct, but were buying a small place in Manhattan to live in during the week - tried to close on the place three times and were informed that the original mortgage paper could not be found - finally they closed on the fourth attempt with no original mortgage paper BECAUSE MORTGAGE PAPERS WERE STORED IN NEW ORLEANS AND WERE WASHED OUT TO SEA DURING KATRINA.
They will never clean up this mortgage mess. The mortgages were sold more than once so they had to destroy the evidence of the fraud and new owners were never recorded on deeds.
The Dog ate it!!!
