Why is the market selling off on great Home builder news

It used to rally big time on lower dollar. You know. Great for multinationals profits, and great for exports. Maybe this is just a small consolidation that will go on this week.

i think that by end of day you will see the big rally based on housing I was posting about last week.

bad earnings. plus I read housing numbers are somewhat bogus because of all the foreclosures. the above 150k market is still suffering badly

Isn't there some sort of an important treasury auction today? How's that going? That might figure in.

The home builders are having a good day but, if there was going to be a broad based rally based on them we would have seen it already.

Well, the treasuries sold but I have no clue about how to break it down. Meaning who bought them or if the rise in rates was considered signficant

The " great " news on housing was an 11 % increase in sales . That 11 % is an increase from the revised May 2009 estimates . The year over year sales estimate was DOWN 21.3 % from June 2008 . Spin it any way you want , but a 21.3 % decrease in a year is quite a drop in sales and that definitely is not good news .
