According to the polls here, there are more people who are bearish and short than bullish and long but when you look at all the writings, its almost 80% bullish. Just wondering why that is. Very strange phenominon I should say. Weekly poll shows that more think market will fall than rise this week and daily poll shows more fully short and partially short than long. So are people going short while thinking the market is going up or are they just staying quiet and not reporting why they feel the market should fall. Just had to get that out. Thanks.

What does this have to do with the question I asked. Nothing so I am not continuing the question answer session. I want to know where the people that are stating that they are short and bearish on this board. Something just seems off.

Issac, since no one else took a shot at answering your question let me try. First, your question itself presumes that some trading guidance could be derived from reconciling the polls versus the forum postings. Respectfully, I don't believe any such correlation exists, and the very fact that you are not seeing a correlation suggests this is so. Many problems trying to make such a link between the two. Clearly, the big reason is that those who take the time and choose to participate in the polling may well not be the same people who post on threads. One click includes you in a poll, whether you are telling the truth of your actual position or not. It takes, some people, considerable thought and time to post their analysis and bias, so many do not, and just like to read what others think. Hence, the very danger of attempting to use this forum's polling and posting statistics for accurate reading of sentiment. I am sure those who seriously work with sentiment indicators, such as Oexchaos and others here, would likely agree. Perhaps they would care to comment?
