The probability is high for a major IT top at this place.

What index/stock are you referring to. At what price and what view/chart/indicators made you realize this ? What factors in your opinion determined it is a IT top?

Not really challenging your statement, just want to know how you got there.
Thanks in advance,

I was referring to the major US stock indices. The party started in July 13th. I arrived at this FF by RF2 composite indicators. BTW, my IT time span covers a few weeks and ST covers a few days which I explained a few times before.

Well I guess the Ben talk only worked one week now its kill equities or pay higher interest and monetize more dept. I wonder which will win out. The way this auction went I think B will win out in the months to come.

The Gov needs cash at low interest payments so which one would you sacrifice?

I still favor one more low in the dollar but we have long bonds coming next week so maybe 80.10's Sept dollar and a trip to 950 SPX area and then one more pop in stocks followed by a pretty big drop in equities. If 81's Sept goes on this run you got a top.

RF, you have been calling a top the last two months, as I have in my mind (and many others probably) i just don't get the point of continuing to call a top (and then doing it without any arguments) who cares - just go for some trades - THE top, well we will find out, mentally it is simply fatal if one searches for something, top, bottom or whatever

This market is acting just like it should! Confused! There are no major tops or bottoms possible until late fall. Just meandering. While corporate profits are gloomy, the gubbermint is cheerfully borrowing lots of cash from China and spending it on pork with no long term jobs but lots of money sloshing around in the economy to keep stocks from tanking. That 666 FF by a prominent poster here is not possible until fall 2010.

Your observation on my calls is about right. I called the IT top when SPX was about 950 and SPX went down to 870, then the IT SELL got short-circuited somehow. I issued a warning to invalidate my RF2 signals just before the July 13th magic pump. Now I see IT back to SELL territory again though still in its early stage.

On July 10th, I warned it's about a BUY; and on July 20th I invalidated IT and ST RF2 SELL signals.
